Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal will have to fight hard in January if they want to transfer a player which has been linked with the club since the summer break has ended. German club Schalke are now also interested in the services of Koln striker Lukas Podolski.
The Germans want to bring in a worthy replacement for the veteran Spanish striker Raul, and Romanian forward Ciprian Marica proved to be a flop so they still didn’t solve that yet.
Arsenal is also highly interested in the striker, and he offered an interesting statement a few weeks back:
‘Arsenal is a top club. They have a good team and play right at the top level in England.’
Wenger is expected to submit an offer in January, but with competition from Schalke it won’t be easy to snatch the German striker even though his services could be of much use for Arsenal.
