With the outgoings of Chamakh and Andrey Arshavin waiting to happen manger Arsene Wenger is now looking high and low for a suitable striker which he could bring at the club.
Even though it looks an easy task it’s really not, but the French manager eyed Wigan’s Hugo Rodallega and he seems interested in going for the striker when January comes. Wigan’s manager Roberto Martinez responded to the rumours saying:
‘It has been made very public that he is in the last year of his contract, so you are going to try to find a story – but there is no story.
‘Hugo Rodallega is a professional and has been a very important member of this football club. He still is.’
Rodallega is indeed a good striker, but is he really the kind of striker Arsenal need? He’s not really as good as Podolski who has also been linked with the Gunners and he’s certainly not as prolific as him. So why would Wenger waste time on a goodish striker when he can transfer one of the best and keep the hopes for winning a trophy as high as possible?
