It has been reported last night that Arsenal (as well as Chelsea) are keen on signing the young Espanyol midfielder Ruben Alcaraz Herraiz who is known simply as Rufo.
The 18 year-old is the top-scorer in the Spain Junior A League, despite operating from behind the front line, and has even made an appearance for the senior Espanyol side.
Arsenal scouts have been watching Rufo for the last couple of weeks, according to a report in Sport.es, and his undoubted talents have been reported to Arsene Wenger with a view to making an approach.
The Gunners have been spending a lot of time scouting in the North of Spain for future stars and have made a point of bringing as much young Spanish talent to the Arsenal Academy over the last few years because they can offer professional contracts a year before their Spanish counterparts.
Could Wenger have unearthed another young Spanish diamond in Rufo?
