It is rumored that Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United are keeping close tabs on Southhampton FC fullback Luke Shaw.
At just 16 years of age, defender Luke Shaw has attracted the interest of the Premier League giants Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea, and are battling it out to snap him up from the Championship side. According to People.com, “Arsenal’s top scout Steve Rowley has watched Shaw twice in the last 10 days as he tries to put the Gunners in pole position”, while United’s “Jim Lawlor has also been impressed after watching Shaw in action.”
If the transfer takes place, Shaw would follow in the footsteps of fellow Academy graduates Theo Walcott and Gareth Bale, who both are now playing their trade and enjoying relative success in England’s top flight. He is also seen as a valuable commodity and a sound investment in the future, since only a handful of Englishmen are adept at playing at the left back position. However, a potential transfer does not seem to be plausible at the moment, with Chelsea’s substantial bid for the left back being outright rejected by the Saints.
