Arsenal are close to making their second January transfer window signing in the persona of 19-year-old playmaker Thomas Eisfeld.
The youngster is running out of contract with German side Borussia Dortmund in the summer, so the Gunners are rumoured to have to pay around £500,000 for him.
The attacking midfielder is well known for the way he sees the game and he’s one of the best players in Dortmund’s U-19 squad having scored 12 goals for them already this season. The Borussia Dortmund academy is well known for the top class midfielders they produce on a regular basis. Rosicky came out of that academy and so did recent Arsenal targets Reus and Gotze.
Reus had a similar road leaving Dortmund when he was 18 for Rot Weiss Ahlen on a very small transfer fee, ended up in Monchengladbach and a few years later the Bundesliga champions started taking interest in him and now they signed a contract with the attacking midfielder paying €17.5 million for him.
Let’s hope that Eisfeld will be at least as good as Reus is now and that Wenger will show us his capable scouting skills once again after just proving what incredible deal he made for Chamberlain.
