Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger has eyed the possibility to give his squad a boost in the summer by transferring a new star striker who can help take the team back to where it deserves to be, fighting for the title.
Benfica’s 20-year-old star striker Rodrigo is now under close Arsenal observation according to several online publications, but the Gunners won’t have an easy time signing him as they will have to hold off interest coming from Italian giants Inter Milano.
Arsene Wenger secured the forward positions in the winter by bringing in club legend Thierry Henry, but with the veteran Frenchman due to leave in a few weeks Arsenal won’t have much room for error if we don’t count Park, who hasn’t proven much at Arsenal, as a possible substitute.
The best move Wenger can do at the moment is start looking for a striker who could be good enough to help Arsenal when the time will come to make a transfer. The Frenchman already created a shortlist which has a few interesting players like Turk striker Burak Yilmaz, German Lukas Podolski and Frenchman Olivier Giroud. Between the three strikers one must be at least good enough to help the Gunners, but Rodrigo is also a viable target given his proved skill and his young age.
