According to today’s newspapers Arsenal are going to make a shocking summer switch as they already started making progress on convincing Chelsea’s striker Daniel Sturridge to join them.
Sturridge is currently the best striker at Chelsea where despite Drogba and Torrest cost the club a lot yearly, Daniel manages to step up to the the plate with 10 goals this season which make him the team’s top scorer.
According to inside voices, Sturridge is not welcoming the idea of having to play on the wing in AVB’s team, and also has something to complain about the salary he’s currently getting, but Chelsea is unwilling to negotiate his contract which is still due to run for another two and a half years.
A move to Arsenal would surely secure him a bigger salary for now, but a longer time spent at Chelsea would win over Arsenal given the Gunners’ policies. Also, a move to Arsenal would not secure him a central position in the attack because there’s where Robin Van Persie plays and Wenger’s been using this system for quite a while now with one striker and two on the wings, so why would Sturridge think he’d have a better chance of getting what he wants at Arsenal?
