Arsene Wenger has had to go without any full-backs in the Arsenal squad for so long he must be looking forward to ending the season on a high, especially with Gibbs, Jenkinson and Sagna back to fitness.
Now it seems that they are to be joined in the next couple of weeks by Andre Santos, who has also been out for ages, and Wenger is extremely pleased with the work the Brazilian has done to regain fitness.
He said: “He is doing good, he is not far as well – two weeks away from returning to the group. It is a bit ahead of time and he works with a fantastic attitude. He is unbelievably focused, motivated every day and he is a credit to himself. It is a joy to see how hard he works and sets himself targets. In two weeks we will assess how well he is doing in training.”
So it looks like Arsenal will at least be at nearly full strength for the battle for Fourth place in the next couple of months. Things are looking up!
