It is being reported this morning that Arsene Wenger will have to try and find new buyers for both Carlos Vela and Nicklas Bendtner this summer after talks regarding them being bought by their loan clubs have fallen through.
Real Sociedad officials have been in London for talks with Arsenal about making Vela’s move to Spain permanent, but the negotiations have now been aborted after Sociedad revealed they could only pay 500,000 euros now plus the same again next summer.
It was always doubtful that Sunderland would make a full bid for Nicklas Bendtner especially after the Danish international made it clear that he would only move to a top European club that would provide him with Champions League football and the chance to win major trophies.
His father (and agent) said last night: “Nicklas is not worried about returning to Arsenal as we have had tentative discussions with both Barcelona and Real Madrid, and are expecting some concrete offers at the end of the season.”
And today is Bendtner’s birthday!
