M’Vila’s lawyer says the Arsenal-target was provoked in jail incident

The Arsenal target Yann M’Vila has gotten himself into big trouble and spent a night in jail after he punched a 17-year-old teenager. They certainly weren’t having a friendly game of roulette when he lashed out!

The French international defensive midfielder missed the weekend game due to this problem, and will probably face further consequences after attacking the 17-year-old.

According to the player’s lawyer, a decision has yet been made by the prosecutor who will look into this case next week. The incident occurred at M’Vila’s home and the victim was a close friend of the defensive midfielder according to Fillion.

“Yann has acknowledged that it was an inappropriate response but provoked by the betrayal of the trust he gave to this young man,” Thierry Fillion, told L’Equipe.

“As it stands, no decision has been taken yet by the Rennes prosecutor on this case but the file will be forwarded to him within eight to 10 days.”

Arsenal has been watching M’Vila for two seasons now and Wenger attempted to transfer him last season as well. It seems that the French manager is going to submit a fee of £17million which is likely to persuade Rennes to let the defensive midfielder go.
