Podolski thinks England will be easy for Germany!

The new Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski helped Germany to an excellent 4-2 win over Greece in the European Championship quarter-final, and is not in the slightest bit worried about facing England if Roy Hodgson’s side manage to get past Italy in their crunch match this evening in Kiev.

“The team is confident and playing well,” said Podolski. “To score four goals in the quarter-final against a difficult side like Greece is good. Maybe it could be England next and, if that’s the case, then of course it’s no problem. Now we want the final.”

At least Podolski is expecting England to beat Italy, something that the Brits haven’t done in a competitive quarter-final ever before (well except at Wembley), but surely if Walcott, Chamberlain et al do get past Italy, they will certainly be no pushovers when they face Germany in the semi’s.

Let’s just hope it doesn’t go down to penalties!
