Arsenal received the biggest scare of the international break when star midfielder Mesut Ozil limped out of the game in Germany’s 5-3 victory over Sweden in their last World cup qualifying match. Ozil was substituted in the 82nd minute and stormed down the tunnel. The prognosis seems a knee injury. I can’t but berate Joachim Low for the knock to Ozil.
Why play a key player like Ozil for over 80 minutes in a mindless and inconsequential qualifier. The Germans had already booked their ticket to the World Cup in the penultimate qualifier and in the match against Sweden, key stars like Ozil should have been taken off the firing line and giving an opportunity to fringe stars like Draxler.
It would be sad to see Ozil get injured now that Cazorla is fit to return. Fans are eagerly awaiting the partnership of both midfield wizards. Bild has moved swiftly to allay the fears of a serious injury to Ozil by declaring the former Real Madrid playmaker only suffered from a bruised knee and should be fit enough to take to the field against Norwich at the weekend. As good and relieving as that sounds, it should be taken with a pinch of salt until Arsenal’s physios carry out their own tests and diagnosis on him.
Should it be just a bruised knee and even if fit for the Norwich game, I would advise he is rested for the tie against the Canaries; Rosicky, Wilshere and Cazorla should be capable of handling the visitors while we keep Ozil fresh for the visit of Dortmund and other key fixtures that lie in wait.
Meanwhile Arsenal fans are invited to play mobile casinos while you wait for Arsenal’s match after the international break. The good thing is that yoou can play during the match as well, bet and gamble while the play is still on.
