Morgan Schneiderlin And Alexis Sanchez Could Become Gunners

It being a quiet summer from an Arsenal point of view in terms of signing. Though no signings have been confirmed as yet, the speculations have been going to overdrive in the past few days. To this effect, the media is awashed with reports that Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez and Southampton defensive midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin are on their way to Arsenal. The rumours have created some level of buzz within the fan base that have been starved of signings in recent seasons. Although, many have called for caution in terms of the speculations, yet it is difficult for some not to get excited at the thought of such signings even though it remains the stuffs of dreams for now.

Assuming the speculations turns out to be true, what will they both bring to Arsenal.

Alexi Sanchez is a power house attacker who can play across the attack. In both wings, and at the tip of the strike force. A player adept at dribbling and bringing the ball out in tight spaces, he can conjure up something out of nothing ditto the goal he scored against Atletico Madrid in the last game of La Liga last season.

In La Liga, last season he had 34 appearances, scoring 19 goals and 10 assist for Barcelona. In total, he had four stints as a centre forward and 32 appearances from the right wing.

He is used to the pressing game and his adept at playing at a high tempo with the Chilean national team. Added to that are his years playing the short passing game with Barcelona. He would be coming with strong ability to defend. Having the nous to do the dirty work by defending.

The 25 years old is at the peak of his powers. And with him joining the Arsenal tray, the club will be getting a player with pace, energy and commitment to the defensive side.

Morgan Schneiderlin, the 24 years Southampton defensive midfielder was one of the unsung heroes of the South coast club’s historical season. Trotting it stuff in midfield while Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw and Ricky Lambert took the accolades. He has being with Southampton since 2008 and was called to the French squad for the ongoing World Cup in Brazil where he Played against Ecuador.

A player that is strong in the attack, and blessed with aerial ability of popping up with goals from midfield. He is a player that sticks to his defensive duties, one who seldom abandons that side of his game with good range of passing. Making 33 appearances for Southampton last season chipping in with 2 goals and 1 assist from his position in defensive midfield.

He comes with that Premier League experience that many long for in a player and would not need any settling down period at the Emirates.

Whatever comes off these rumours it turning out to be an interesting summer at the club.
