With Granit Xhaka looking like a done deal, Arsenal still need a couple of players namely a prolific striker, a wing forward and a powerful centre back to partner Koscienly in the centre of the defense. We have already been linked with the likes of Morate, Cavani, Manolas, Mkhitaryan among others.
Aside the incoming, some players need to leave in other to create room for the incomings. And to this end, there are reports in France today claiming Olympic Lyon are interested in signing Arsenal’s Mathieu Debuchy and are ready to offer as much as £12 million to ensure the deal is done. This is beside the reported interest in the player from West Ham.
This is actually good news for every Arsenal fan. Debuchy has made it clear he does not want to stay and it would make sense to simply get rid of him and free up a squad space and spend his way on someone else who will contribute more to the team than the Frenchman.
Debuchy is according to various reports, all of who can’t be wrong, on a £80,000 a week wage. That’s for doing nothing other than running his mouth. With Lyon and West Ham interested, we are better off selling him to the highest bidder and spending the money on players who will contribute something to the team.
