Jack Wishere who suffered persistent ankle and knee injuries that restricted him to only three league games last season is set to be offered a three-year contract extension by Arsenal before he meets up with his international team mates for the Euro 2016 Tournament in France according to the Telegraph and Daily Mail.
This will see the 24 year- old earn more than his present £90,000-a-week wages at the club. This will also mean that the midfielder will be tied to the club until 2018.
Arsenal might have been tempted to offer Wilshere the contract to put to bed the rumour that he will join Pep Guardiola at Manchester City in the summer after reports emerged that he is one of Pep Guardiola’s priority signings.
Wilshere made the squad for the Tournament in France though he has been injured for the past three years and barely unable to make more than 15 league appearances in the process.
Both Wenger and Roy Hodgson of England sees the Englishman as an integral part of their long-term plans and his ability to play as both a deep lying midfielder and behind the striker is seen as a big positive .
