Alvaro Morata To Become A Gunner, £35m Deal To Be Done

While the recent sacking of Louis Van Gaal by Manchester United might come as good news to United fans on Tuesday, the same cannot be said of Arsenal fans as Van Gaal’s rumoured replacement (Jose Mourinho) is planning on using his old Real Madrid ties to sign Juventus striker Alvaro Morata for the North West club once his appointment is confirmed .

Mourinho worked with Morata in Real Madrid after promoting him from the Reserve team and giving him his debut. Mourinho sees Morata as his ideal no.9 and will go for Inter Milan’s captain Mauro Icardi if his pursuit of Morata fails in the summer.

This will see Wenger and Mourinho go ahead to ahead in the transfer market as both coaches are not the best of friends . Mourinho it was who tapped in on Arsenal’s left back Ashley Cole before finally signing him in 2006. Inter it appears are unwilling to sell Icardi making the signing of Morata a must buy for Mourinho after the likes of Wayne Rooney and Anthony Martial failed to score goals in double figures in the league last season.

Arsenal though financially buoyant are seen as no match for Manchester United when it comes to the transfer market which might tilt the balance in the favour of Mourinho and his team. Morata is valued at around £35 million and though only 23 has a lot of top flight football experience having won The Champion League, Italian Seria A and Coppa Italia.
