Arsenal have been linked with the signing of so many strikers in the last few weeks and one can understand why we consistently get linked with the signing of different striker after such a poor season from our attackers.
And it appears we have finally signed a striker ahead of the new season. This striker is not Morata or Icardi or even Slimani. His name is Maximiliano Romero and Arsenal have agreed to sign him on according to his agent Rolando Zarate.
Reports of the agreement was leaked last month by the player’s agent with Spanish media Todo Mercato Web also reiterating that the transfer of the 17-year old will soon be confirmed.
The agreement includes the player having to spend two more years at his current club Velez before moving to the Emirates.
According to his agent, “Maxi has huge potential,” Zarate said in quotes translated by Marca. “I went to London to talk about Arsenal’s offer, and then took it back to [Velez president] Raul Gamez.
“Arsenal agreed to our main terms: that the player remains at Velez for two more years. Maxi is going to complete his apprenticeship at a great club like Velez.”
“I met with Arsene Wenger twice in London. I negotiated with him and then with his assistants. They heard about Maxi Romero through their scouts in America. He was the player who most impressed them.”
