Last month, news broke that Arsen are interested in signing Raphaël Guerreiro from Lorient as the replacement for Kieran Gibbs who according to the reports could be leaving the club this summer in search of more regular first team opportunities. Arsenal were said to have watched the player several. The player will certainly be leaving France this summer but he is not joining Arsenal unfortunately.
According to various reports, he has agreed personal terms with Borussia Dortmund and Lorient too have agreed a fee with the German and unless Arsenal come up with a better bid to hijack the move, the player will certainly be joining the German club side. His medical is already scheduled according to reports so Arsenal have to hurry up if they want to stand a chance of signing him.
With Gibbs looking like he will leave the Emirates in search of first team football, Arsenal needs to sign another left back and considering the number of clubs interested in Raphaël Guerreiro, it seems he has something good about him. Aside Arsenal and Dortmund, Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham have all been linked with the signing of the player. The scouts of all of these clubs can’t be role.
It could however be that Arsenal have let the Frenchman go elsewhere because they have been successful in their attempt to sign Celtic’s youngster Kieran Tierney. Arsenal is said to have made a bid for the high rated Liverpool target. Maybe the bid has been accepted and the media are not aware yet? This is very possible considering how Arsenal likes to do their business in total secrecy.
