If a report by Marca is to be believed, Alvaro Morata is already an Arsenal player and he will be undergoing his medical with the club by next week. The paper claims Arsenal has agreed to play Real Madrid £38 million to buy the player permanently while Juventus have activated his buy back clause and have resold him to Arsenal.
Arsenal are said to have offered the player a wage package totalling £155,000 a week plus other performance related bonuses which is a significant increase to his current £80,000 a week package. Morata has also been linked with a move to both Chelsea and PSG but if Marca is to be believed, we have won the race for the signature of the player. His wage package will make him one of the highest earning players at Arsenal. The £155,000 a week package will put him ahead of both Mesut Ozil ( £140,000 a week ) and Alexis Sanchez ( £135,000 a week ).
Should the report be true, Morata will be expected to lead Arsenal’s attack line next season with Giroud and Theo Walcott ( if he remains at the club ) as back up options. And with Ozil behind the Spaniard and more regular playing time almost assured, he is certainly going to score a lot of goals. Despite only having 22 starts fro Juventus last season, he still managed to score 16 times in all competitions which shows his quality.
