Borussia Dortmund and Gabonese Forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appears to be on the move to a big club this summer.
The main reason for the new speculation might not be unconnected with the fact that the Gabonese national team coach Jorge Costa recently revealed that the 26-year- old captain of the national team did not play in an international friendly in the weekend mainly because he asked to be excused as he was in advanced negotiation with
an unnamed club for a summer transfer.
Costa said, “Aubameyang asked me not to be selected because he is in the process of changing clubs.”
Though the news is not shocking, the timing could complicate matters for Borussia Dortmund and top clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal who have been linked with him all summer. Last season, Aubameyang had his best season as his prolific goals of 39 in all competitions for the German club did not go unnoticed.
Though Arsenal are not known big spenders , the Gabonese will be an excellent for the North London club as his goals will ensure the London team end up with a trophy. Aubameyang is not just a forward who scores goals, he can also play in all forward positions and has a perfect hold up play which will perfectly match with the likes
of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
With his Aubameyang in the team, Arsenal will tend to win certain matches which the end up losing with his odd goals. At 26, the forward is not a finished product and judging from his form since leaving AC Milan for Saint Etienne, it is clear that the Gabonese is so Underrated and may end up winning the Balloon d’Or in the future if he continues his progress. Aubameyang is clearly a massive upgrade on the likes of Oliver Giroud, Theo Walcott and Danny Welbeck and might be the missing jigsaw in Wenger’s team next summer.
