Although rumours have continued to persist that Arsenal are likely to sign Leicester City’s prolific striker Jamie Vardy this summer after been frustrated with the likes of Danny Welbeck, Oliver Giroud and Theo Walcott, the reality is that such move is very unlikely.
The main reason for that is because according to reports the Forward has agreed a new five-year contract with the Premier League champions and is ready to defend his title come next season after the Euro Championship in the summer.
This now means the signing of Juventus forward Alvaro Morata seems more likely given that the Spanish forward has spoken publicly of his love for the Premiership , going further to suggest that he will thrive in the league as it suits his physical and attacking style of play.
Morata is valued at £30 million and the problem with his signing is that Real Madrid seems likely to exercise their buy-back option in his contract before his sale to Juventus in 2013.
Real Madrid it has been reported are planning to sign him and re-sale him for another club in the same transfer window in order to make profit from his sale. Though Chelsea and also Manchester United have been linked with the forward , Arsenal are seen as favourites for his signature.
