Cesc who joined the Gunners from the Barca’s La Masia as a 16-year-old star went on find his feet in the Premier League fast. Fabregas quickly became the club’s captain in 2008, but was always praised by his former club. Cesc eventually pushed Arsenal for a return to Spain, and his wish was granted in 2011, with a €29m fee paid by the Spanish giants, while the player himself claimed to have had to pay €1m a year to complete the deal.
Now the same situation is beginning to rear its head with Arsenal left-back, Hector Bellerin, set to endure the same treatment, having also made a switch to Arsenal as a 16 year-old and has become one of the best players in his current side. Barcelona’s sporting director Roberto Fernandez heaped praises on Bellerin, although he ruled out a move for him at present.
Fernandez said: “He is a magnificent player but it is not something that we will be pursuing”.
Though only time will tell, will Bellerin choose to stick with the North London side or will he listen to the other voices and make the move to Spain?
