With the European Champions starting next week, one would naturally expect the transfer activities to now slow down. Not for Arsenal. The Gunners are working round the clock to ensure they make key additions to the team, tie down the players who are already at the club to long term contracts and make a decision on the futures of other players on loan.
On the loan front, Arsenal have reportedly told AS Roma to make up their mind on whether they will be signing Szczesny for at least another season or not. The Rome club reportedly want the deal to be made permanent which Arsenal doesn’t want hence the hold up. Shoudl Roma insist they will only want Szczesny on a permanent basis, Arsenal will reportedly recall him.
And should they recall him, it will lead the club making a BIG decision on another goalkeeper at the club. In the last few days there has been one rumour to the other claiming David Ospina is on his way to Turkish to team up with Beskitas. Some reports even claim the keeper has agreed personal terms with the Turkey giants and should Wenger sanctions the deal, he will be on his way out of the club.
But if Roma are taking Szczesny on another year loan, Wenger is unlikely to let Ospina leave the club. Hence the club is eager for Roma to make a decision fast.
This is aside the deal to sign Jamie Vardy which is practically done according to reports. This means Arsenal will be completing three big deals this week.
