According to a report by Daily Mirror, Leicester City manager hasn given up on keeping the player and will allow him move to Arsenal. According to reports from Italy, the deal is worth as much as £45.8 including wages.
Vardy, 29, scored 24 goals in the Premier league last season. His goals helped Leicester win the league ahead of Arsenal last season. Arsenal have reportedly activated his £20 million release clause and have since Friday been in talks with the player.
It was initially reported yesterday that Leicester are working very hard to ensure they keep the player but newer reports claim Vardy is hell bent on moving to Arsenal and has made this clear to Leicester. He will reportedly sign a four years contract that will see him earn £120,000 a week over the course of the four years.
Should this report be true, he will undergo his medical at London Colney later today. Despite his signing, Arsenal are said to still be in the market for another attacker which rumours have it to be Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan which probably means Theo Walcott will be allowed to leave.
Leicester City, Southampton and Liverpool have all been linked with the signing of Theo Walcott and honestly, it may be best for him to leave Arsenal especially as he will practically have no chance of playing except when there are injuries.
