When Skysports reports that sources understand a particular club is in talks or interested in signing a particular player, the whole football world believes. In the last few weeks, Arsenal have been linked with the signing of highly rated AZ Alkmaar striker Vicent Janssen and you could understand the links. Arsenal need a striker, Janssen scored 27 goals in 32 matches last season.
According to skypsports, the player could be on his way to England in the next couple of days, however, he is not joining Arsenal but rather Tottenham. Skysports sources understand Tottenham have officially open talks for the signing of the player and in fact the player was in London on Tuesday to hold talks with officials from Tottenham.
Sky however confirmed no talks has happened between AZ Alkmaar and Tottenham over a transfer fee but it is widely reported by the Dutch media that a bid of 12 million will be enough for Tottenham or any other club to sign the player.
This report if true is bad news for Arsenal especially if we lose out on the signing of Jamie Vardy. Janssen may be relatively unknown but scoring 27 goals in the Dutch league can’t be a fluke. Arsenal may be making a mistake letting the player join our most hated rivals.
