During this period of the year, there are usually many rumours flying left, centre and right in the media. However, there are some journalist that when they report a club is interested in a particular player, one just have to take note. This is why Arsenal fans can have hope that their club will be signing Henrikh Mkhitaryan this summer as highly rated and very reliable Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolò Schira of Italy has confirmed that Arsenal have made an offer for the Armenian international.
Kicker had reported last week that Dortmund are now ready to sanction the sale of the player after his refusal to sign an extension to his contract. It was thought that by signing Emre More and Seb Rode from Bayern Munich, Dortmund were merely replacing the soon to leave Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Nicolò Schira tweeted the following on social media micro blogging site Twitter a few hours ago to buttress Kicker’s report; “Talks ongoing for Henri Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund to Arsenal. [Arsenal manager Arsène] Wenger has offered 30 € milion for him,”
However, it remain to be seen if Dortmund will accept an offer of €30 million for a player who scored 19 goals last season and created 24 assists. This is regardless of the fact that he has only one year on his contract. However, it must be say Arsenal are in a position of strenght as the player wants to leave and Dortmund by bringing in two players in his position have technically replaced him.
