Arsenal are making rigorous efforts to table a new contract to Spanish rising star Hector Bellerin who has been recently linked to La Liga champions Barcelona this summer. This is after the player himself confirmed he will be playing for Arsenal next season and not thinking of moving to Barca.
Bellerin has been a regular at Arsenal after displacing French international Mattieu Debuchy in 2015. Debuchy was the forced to seek a temporary move to Bordeaux where he got injured which ruled him out of the Euro tournament on home soil this summer.
Bellerin joined Arsenal from Barcelona’s in 2011 before signing a professional contract in 2013 and usurping first eleven player Debuchy in 2015. At 21, Bellerin is already one of the best right backs in the game and has been linked to Barcelona all season after the announcement of the exit of veteran Dani Alves to Juventus this summer.
The youngster recently made the Spanish squad for the Euro’s after the late injury suffered by Dani Carvajal in the final of the Champions League a few weeks ago. Arsenal have made it known he won’t be sold and are making arrangements to offer him a new contract even though his current deal expires in 2019.
