Borussia Dortmund playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan has made it clear that he wants to quit the German club after talks on his new contract stalled. This has prompted Arsenal to table a £25 million bid for him this summer. Mkhitaryan was outstanding last season, scoring 23 goals and providing 18 assists in 53 games in all competitions last season.
The Armenian has insisted that the club insert a release clause that would be triggered if current coach Thomas Tuchel. The former Mainz boss led BVD in an impressive campaign in his first season at the club after the departure of Jurgen Klopp last summer.
Arsenal see the Armenian as a perfect fit for his side , after the departure of the likes of Mattieu Flamini, Thomas Rosicky and Mikel Arteta making Arsenal lose many first team players. The former Sharkar Donetsk player was signed in 2013 and has gone in to shine at the German club although it was under Tuchel that he had the best season of his career at 27 years.
Arsenal have tabled a bid of £25 million for the player who has one year left in his contract with the club which might force the club to sell him this season rather than lose him on a free next season.
