Arsenal are set to announce the signing of their second summer signing and no, it is not Jamie Vardy. The Jamie Vardy deal is not yet done according to reports but Rob Holding, Bolton Wanderers’ highly rated Centre back as signed for Arsenal and the deal will be made official in a couple of days according to a report by highly rated Football insider website.
Rob Holding was Bolton’s best player in the just concluded season. Despite Bolton’s relegation from the Championship to League one last season, Rob Holding was one of the best players in the Championship and was voted into the team of the year and also won Bolton’s player of the year award.
Tottenham, Everton and Celtic have all been linked with the signing of the player but he has reportedly made up his mind and he will join Arsenal. According to football insider, Arsenal initially had a bid of £750,000 rejected for the player but Wenger came back with another bid of £1.5 million which has now been accepted by Bolton and should the player pass a medical, he will become a Gunner in days.
Holding will be expected to replace Calum Chambers as Arsenal’s youth choice as Chambers is said to be on his way out on loan.
