Arsenal seem set to announce the signing of their second MAJOR summer signing if you believe reports emanating from the German media. Premier League giants Liverpool are reportedly stepping up their interest in Sadio Mane, the transfer has now been fixed around £40million.
Premier League club Southampton are determined to cash in heavily on the Senegal international, who shone like million stars at Southampton last season, attracting interest from Old Trafford club Manchester United back in January.
Liverpool are keen on adding pace and quality to their attack with their current attackers struggling last season, and have reportedly made Mane one of their priority targets after failing to land Mario Gotze.
The 24-year-old is expected to command wages of around £125,000 per week, in what could prove an expensive deal for Liverpool, repots The Sun.
Sadio Mane, despite playing up front or out wide, scored 15 goals in all competitions for the saints last season, and could follow a number of other former Southampton stars in making the move to Anfield in recent years.
Liverpool have earlier raided Southampton for stars like Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne in the last two summers.
Should Liverpool sign Mane, Arsenal will be in the best position to sign long term target Daniel Sturridge, as the former Chelsea man wouldn’t want to play second fiddle to Mane.
