Arsenal are looking to sign a proven striker this summer, after French striker Olivier Giroud’s inconsistent form for the Gunners. With Vardy’s proposed move to the Emirates stalling, we take a look at five alternative strikers.
Alvaro Morata – The highly sorted after Juventus striker continues to impress with Juventus and the Spanish national team. Arsenal fans were left hopeful after the player revealed that he will reject Manchester United’s offer should they sign Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The only challenge in this is if the £40 million fee is worth the value of a player that some has tagged inconsistent.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – The Gabonese was in sensational form for German club Borussia Dortmund last season, netting 36 goals in all competition. His impressive performance last season earned him the Bundesliga Player of the Year. The African player of the year has been linked with several Premier League sides, including the Arsenal, but a £70 million price tag could be a setback for Arsenal.
Karim Benzema – The player has since been on Arsenal’s radar, and following legal incidents, there are rumours that the Real Madrid striker would be shown the exit door. The 28 year old striker scored a personal record number of goals and won the Champions League, a trophy that has eluded the North London club.
Vincent Janssen – He is the star star of theDutch Eredivisie, scoring 27 goals for his club AZ Alkmaar last season and earning a place in the Dutch national team. His impressive stats will almost lead to a Premier League switch this summer.
Moussa Dembele – Dembel, 19, scored 15 league goals and provided 6 assists for Fulham last season, and reportedly rejected any contract renewal talks to push for a move elsewhere.
