Arsenal is still in the chase to sign Yannick Carrasco from Atletico Madrid this summer. The Gunners quest to get the Atletico Madrid star is due to the ambitions of Arsene Wenger to strengthen his team ahead of the 2016/2017 Premier League season.
Sport Review claims that if Manchester United can get the signature of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Dortmund, then Arsenal would have no choice but to sign Yannick Carrasco from Atletico Madrid this summer.
The Gunners have been linked with so many players and mostly midfielders this summer. Arsene Wenger has effectively moved rapidly to add to his midfield alternatives at the Emirates by securing Granit Xhaka to the club as his first signing last month.
Arsenal is believed to have tabled an offer of £19.2m to convey Atletico star Carrasco to Emirates Stadium.
Presently, Italian columnist Emanuele Giulianelli has told The Sport Review that an arrangement for Carrasco to move to Arsenal could be back on the cards if Mkhitaryan secures the transfer to Manchester United.
“If Mkhitaryan joins Manchester United it [Carrasco to Arsenal] could return as an imaginable move.” – Giulianelli said.
Wenger would want a lot of options to choose from when next season come around, so that he would not suffer from lack of options when players get injured during the course of the season as it happened last season.
