In a report that will certainly shock the football world, Arsenal are said to have agreed a deal in principle with Bayern Munich to sign Liverpool and Chelsea target Mario Gotze as soon as the European Championship is over. The Gunners were initially thought to be the likeliest team to sign Henrikh Mkhitaryan but it appears the Armenian is now on his way to Manchester United instead.
And in a bid to ensure a right sided winger is signed for the club this summer, Arsenal have agreed to pay Bayern Munich an undisclosed amount of money for the signing of Mario Gotze and will discuss personal terms with the player himself once he is done with the European Championship with Germany.
This will not be the first time Gotze is linked with a move to Arsenal. Before he went to Bayern Munich, Arsenal were said to have tabled a bid of £30 million for him but the player decided to instead join Bayern which angered Dortmund fans.
His signing, if it happens, will be a massive boost to the current Arsenal team. He is versatile. Can play on on the right wing, in the 10 role and as a false nine which will work perfectly for Arsenal.
