According to reports, Premier League club Arsenal are pondering a transfer move for Southampton forward Sadio Mane after failing to land England international Jamie Vardy.
Arsenal is believed to be a long-time admirer of the Senegal international, whom Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has been following since his time at Red Bull Salzburg.
Mane has since performed well in the English Premier League with Southampton, leading to rumoured interest from several clubs including Liverpool this summer.
The 24-year-old has been shortlisted by Arsenal this summer as they seek alternatives for Leicester City star Vardy, with Wenger believing he has rejected a move to Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail.
Top players like Alvaro Morata and Gonzalo Higuain have also been shortlisted by Arsenal, though Mane may be a more realistic target.
According to report, Premier League club Southampton seem to be determined not to lose their star player on the cheap, as they are set to cash in heavily on the player, and could demand as much as £35million for his signature.
According to the Daily Mail, Liverpool are also closing in on the £30 million signing of Sadio Mane and want to complete a deal with Southampton by the time they return to preseason training on July 2.
