From all indication, Arsenal are in the market for a world class right sided winger, hence the links with Mahrez, Mkhitaryan, Gotze, Draxler and now Yannick Carrasco. According to reports, there is a real chance that Carrasco will be playing in Arsenal colours next season.
According to Italian journalist Emmanuel Giulianelli, Arsenal will be free to sign the Belgian should Manchester United be successful in their own attempt to sign Mkhitaryan from Dortmund. Mkhitaryan from all indication will be signing for Manchester United despite the fact that it was Arsenal that was said to be the likeliest to sign him before the Red devils became interested.
Giulianelli tweeted ; “If Mkhitaryan joins Manchester United it [Carrasco to Arsenal] could come back as a likely move.”
Arsenal have already tabled a bid £19m for the player which shows the Gunners are truly keen on signing the highly skillful winger. Atletico Madrid are said to be ready to accept a bid of £23 million from Arsenal for the player but all discussion have to wait till the end of the Euros.
His signing, if it happens could however mean the end of Theo Walcott at Arsenal. Unless of course Wenger sees Walcott as an option in attack.
Signing Yannick Carrasco will make sense in so many ways. He can play in both the left and the right wing which means he and Sanchez can easily inter-change positions during matches to confuse the opposition. He is also an upgrade on Theo Walcott.
His signing could however impede Alex Iwobi’s development.
