This time, reports from far away Japan claims Arsenal are on the verge of signing highly rated Sanfrecce Hiroshima striker Takuma Asano.
According to the report by highly reliable Japanese media outlet Sanyo News, Arsenal have made an official bid for the striker who scored 20 goals in 75 matches for his club last season. Wenger is said to be using his influence in the Japanese league to get the player to move to Arsenal. Personal terms is said to have already been agreed in advance with the player which means Arsenal have been in talks with the player for quite a while without the English press knowing.
Asano, 21, is rated as one of the best players in the Japanese league and has been capped four times by Japan at senior national team level. He is expected to cost Arsenal less than 10 million. Arsenal are said to be believe they have a good chance of getting a work permit for the player and should the work permit application fail, he will be sent out on loan for a year.
Arsenal are said to also be in discussion to sign Romelu Lukau from Everton.
