East London club West Ham are closing in on the signing of Arsenal youngster Tyrell Robinson according to reports from The Daily Mail.
The wonder kid is highly-rated at Arsenal, scoring 7 goals for their U18 squad last term and also featuring at U21 level. The youngster has agreed professional terms with Arsenal, signing a contract last year, and has even been invited to train with the senior side occasionally.
It seems Robinson is on the verge of making a shock switch to London rivals West Ham after entering transfer talks with the East London side.
Robinson, 18, can operate on either side of the wings in the midfield or as a left-back and echoes the profile of two signings Slaven Bilic has already made this summer.
West Ham had earlier signed striker Toni Martinez from Valencia at a cost of £2.4million, whilst former Chelsea youngster Domingos Quina signed for the Hammers in May.
Robinson is expected sign a two-year deal with West ham and missed training with the Arsenal u21s on Tuesday so as to complete the transfer.
Born in Basildon, Robinson played 13 games for Arsenal’s u21s in the league last season, grabbing one assist. He scored two goals, one in the UEFA Youth League against Galatasaray and one in the FA Youth Cup, and an assist against Coventry giving him a total of two goals and two assists in 25 games over the course of the season.
