Leicester midfielder N’Golo Kante look set to leave the King Power Stadium after refusing an improved contract with the foxes but report indicate he’s chosen to sign for Arsenal rivals Chelsea over other European clubs interested in him.
Initially, it looked like the Gunners were genuinely interested in Kante who was undoubtedly one of the Foxes stand-out players last season. With, the Gunners signing Swiss international Granit Xhaka, I highly doubt the Gunners will pursue Kante any longer.
Reports indicate Kante is almost confirmed to be off to Arsenal rivals Chelsea to work under the incoming Blues’ manager, Antonio Conte. The defensive midfielder has not only turned down an improved £100,000 a week contract with Leicester City, but he’s rejected offers from Serie A side Juventus, French Champions PSG and Premier League giant Manchester United.
Despite the press still insisting on Arsenal interest in the midfielder, I honestly doubt the Gunners are still interested at this point.
The Arsene Wenger tutored side has earlier failed in their attempt to lure Foxes star Jamie Vardy. Vardy played a key role Leicester’s title-winning squad last season, and his good form has attracted interest from Wenger, who activated his release clause.
