Signing a striker this summer is something Arsenal fans will be happy with. Arsenal certainly could do with a striker this summer. And according to report, North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham are set to go head to head over a £38m pounds deal for inter Milan forward Mauro Icardi.
Both Premier League giants finished second and third respectively behind eventual surprise champion Leicester City. Amid Arsenal interest, report suggests Spurs have flown representatives to the City of Milan to negotiate a deal for the Argentine hotshot ahead of North London rival Arsenal.
According to reports, Spurs are prepared to offer £38million for the Inter Milan and Argentine striker. Spurs will not only battle City rival Arsenal for his signature as Spanish side Athletico Madrid are also targeted.
Report suggest Inter Mila will listen to offers for Icardi, but a good deal would need to be tabled for Inter to part with their star man. The Argentine has emerged as one of the world’s hottest prospects over the last few seasons, helping Inter finish fourth-placed last campaign.
Icardi is no doubt a clinical finisher and holds the ball up well, – something Arsene Wenger will relish.
