With so much inflation in the market at the moment, Arsenal fans are scared Wenger may end up not signing any more players unless he can find what he considers to be a bargain buy. The Frenchman has confirmed many times that he is not scared to spend but will only spend when he finds a bargain. A bargain Arsenal seem to have discovered in Alexandre Lacazette.
According to reports, Arsenal have been made aware of the existing of a clause in Lacazette’s contract which allows anyone who bids £34.2m to open talks with the player with a view of agreeing personal terms. This amount according to reports Lyon will have to accept if the club bidding is a club outside of France and in the Champions League.
Lacazette has been one of the best strikers in the French league in the last three seasons. He has been linked with moves to Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Tottenham but with all of the aforemention clubs having other targets this summer, Arsenal have a perfect chance of signing the 25-year-old France international.
Lacazette has been the subject of three bids from West Ham but the player has made it clear he will not be signing for a club that is not playing in the Champions League. Newcaslte also had a bid rejected for him last January.
