Every Arsenal fan would like to see their side have a consistent out and out striker, one who can take on defenders, who defenders are scared of and can score at least 25 goals every season. Current striking options Oliver Giroud, Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott are yet to fill the shoes of Thierry Henry, Ian wright, Dennis Bergkamp, Nwankwo Kanu and even Robin Van Persie.
As every transfer window, Arsenal has been linked with strikers like Alvaro Morata and Alexandre Lacazette. Arsenal has been heavily linked with a move for the Lyon’s striker Alexandre Lacazette in recent months as Arsene Wenger looks set to bolster his attacking options and end the Gunners’ Premier League title drought.
25-year-old Alexandre Lacazette is currently valued at £43m, but Lyon is reluctant to part with their star man and has insisted that they won’t let him go cheaply. Lacazette has netted 63 goals for Lyon since the start of the 2013/14 season and is seen as the kind of striker that Arsenal needs. Most fans will be more than happy for Wenger to part with £43m to acquire the signing of a quality striker for a position that Wenger has been reluctant to address over the years.
Arsenal fans will be hoping Wenger’s hesitation doesn’t cost the club the opportunity to sign Lacazette as Atletico Madrid, West Ham, Tottenham and Liverpool are all said to be weighing up moves for the France international. Reports have it that West Ham has already had a formal bid rejected by Lyon
Will Wenger be able to dig deep to bring this proven goal scorer to the Emirates?
