It is obvious to every Arsenal fans, pundits and neutrals that Arsenal will do well to sign another centre back this summer. And the Gunners have been linked with the signing of many of them. Only yesterday night news emerged that we have had a bid accepted by Dortmund for the signing of Neven Subotic.
The Serbian is said to have made it clear to Dortmund that he wants to leave the club and despite reports linking us with his signing, Skysports sources are claiming the player is currently in England at the moment to talk with Middlesborough and ahead of a move to the Teesside clubside. Should he successfully reach an agreement with Middlesborough, he will reportedly undergo a medical and join the club for pre-season.
According to the report from Skysports, side Boro, Sunderland are also interested in the player. He will reportedly be available for £8m which is a steal considering his experience in the game and the amount of money other centre backs who are not necessarily better than Subotic have moved for so far this summer.
The highly experienced Serbian would certainly have done a job for Arsenal and at just 27, his can still offer us at least four years of quality football. It is surprising Arsenal have not pushed through their interest in the player.
