According to reports, Arsenal is set to approach London rivals Chelsea over signing a key member of their squad this summer.
Arsenal snapped up Czech goal keeper Petr Cech for a fee of about £10m. At the time it was believed that Chelsa goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon would follow the former Chelsea goal keeper Petr Cech to Arsenal but the move was reportedly blocked by Roman Abramovich.
New Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is reportedly keen on bringing on his own backroom staffs to Chelsea, Lollichon’s future at the club is now under threat and according to the British tabloid Metro, the goalkeeping coach could move to North London this summer.
According to the Mirror, Lollichon and Thibaut Courtois have a poor relationship between them and that was partly responsible for the goalkeeper’s below average performances last season.
The Chelsea goal keeper is keen on bringing his friend and goalkeeping coach Gianluca Spinelli to Chelsea this summer, hence spelling the end of Lollinchon’s stay at Stamford Bridge.
It was also thought that the development will alert the Gunners who would be keen to reunite Lollichon with Petr Cech as the pair worked together since 2007 before the latter’s move to North London last summer.
Should the Gunners snap up Lollichon, it is thought that he would be asked to work alongside current Arsenal goalkeeping coach Garry Peyton who has been at the club for over a decade.
