According to a report by El Confidencial, the Gunners have reached an agreement with Spanish La Liga champions Real Madrid for the services of French international striker Karim Benzema.
Report indicate Real Madrid has told the Gunners that Spain international striker Alvaro Morata is not for sale but that the North London club can sign Karim Benzeman instead. It is believed that Real Madrid has accepted a bid said to be in the region of €35 million for the super star striker.
Report also claim the former Lyon star will undergo a medical on Tuesday and will sign a deal with the Gunners which will see him earn about £180,000 a week to become the North Londoner’s highest earner, maybe until Mesut Ozil and Sanchez sign new deal at least.
As unrealistic as this report sounds, considering Real Madrid are all of a sudden not ready to part ways with Spaniard Morata, it could mean that Real have chosen to keep the Real star striker as they thought Benzema will depart the club.
Benzema has been heavily linked with a move to the North London club. Everyone believed last season that the French international will be joining the Gunners but he changed his mind at the tail end.
With Morata now back at his old club, Benzema could find himself playing second fiddle to the former Juventus forward, a development he does not fancy and has asked to leave the club and has been granted permission.
