Although every journalist and ITK seem to think Arsenal will sign either of Lukaku, Morata or Lacazette, very reliable Spanish media outlet El Confidencial are reporting today that Arsenal have reached an agreement with Real Madrid for the purchase of Karim Benzema. According to the report, Wenger has given up on Morata when it became clear Madrid will not sell and if they are to sell, the player is more likely to move to Cheslea who are ready to pay double fo what Arsenal plan to pay for the former Juventus star.
And with Morata claiming he will not want to be a benchwarmer, it appears Madrid are getting rid of Benzema in order to accommodate Morata. And this is certainly not a surprise as Madrid have actively been wanting to get rid of the Frenchman but have not been able to do so due to their inability to get their own targets.
Last summer he want constantly been linked with a move to Arsenal while Madrid were thought to be considering the possibility of signing Emerrick-Pierre Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund. Madrid were unable to get their own target and Arsenal ended the summer without Benzema.
One year later, things have changed and Benzema could be undergoing a medical with Arsenal as early as Wednesday this week. El Confidencial reckons that Madrid will accept a €35m bid from Arsenal for the player and that personal terms have nearly been agreed.
