Report emanating from Italian news outlet Calcio News claimed that Arsenal have also join their London rival West Ham United in race to sign the Hammers target Mario Mandzukic.
The former Bayern Munich forward joined the Italian giants from Atletico Madrid for a huge transfer move for a fee to believe to be £13.6m in the last campaign but ever since then, the striker has not been able to prove his worth while player in Turin. Even the 30-year-old record of 13 goals in his 36 appearances for Juve, serves to testify this statement.
The Old Lady has recently spend big in securing the service of Napoli forward Gonzalo Higuain – who was formerly on Arsenal radar – and with his arrival at Turin, it can be clearly seen that the Croatian days with Juve are numbered this summer.
With the lack of a consistent and predictable forward at the Emirates stadium, I believe if these reports from the Italian news happen to hold water then Arsenal ought to get it done ASAP.
In no time, top European clubs would undeniably start to show interest in signing the former Bayern forward and according to report from the Daily Mirror recently, the report claimed that West Ham United have been monitoring the progress of the Croatian.
Same report from English media went on claiming that the East London club had chosen Mandzukic as an alternative to the club recent duo exit – Carlos Baccca and Simone Zaza – and they also claimed that the Hammers are lining up £12 million to sign Mandzukic.
The Hammers will surely not find it an easy task in securing in getting his signature though as it has now been clearly stated according to Calcio News that even the north London club are interested in signing the striker.
According to Transfermkt, the Croatian’s currently valued at £16 which I think the north London club should be able to afford.
