It looks set to be one of the stories of the summer at the Emirates with Alexandre Lacazette concurrently joining Arsenal and staying at Lyon, depending on which reports you believe.
Alexandre Lacazette is set to be offer a new contract by the Ligue 1 giants Lyon FC but the player is believed to turn the deal down and join Arsenal as per The Telegraph.
Reports on Friday revealed that Lyon were confident of holding on to the French international who bagged 21 goals in Ligue 1 last season but report from The Telegraph the following day goes against that.
The French club president Jean-Michel Aulas claims that he didn’t expect a new bid from the Gunners and they are set to offer him a new contract.
However, the report from Telegraph writer – Jason Burt – claims that the forward has decided that he wants a move to the Emirates Stadium.
His report goes on to say that, the Gunners will have to raise their offer up to €50 million to hijack the Frenchman away from the club.
While he also says that Lacazette wants to move out from the club to Arsenal and points out that,
“There is a strong emotional pull for Lacazette to stay at Lyon and coach Bruno Genesio, who has been a big influence on the player after taking over during last season, has met with the France international to stress how important he is to his plans and how much he wants him to stay.”
I believe this report should be a good news for us all who want to see Alexandre Lacazette at the Emirates but it is far from believes that the player will end up at the club next season.
