According to report, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus will hold talks on Thursday over the potential transfer of Arsenal’s midfielder Blaise Matuidi to the Italian champions.
The Serie A champions have reportedly been in the hunt for a new central midfielder for almost a month, given the exit of Paul Pogba to Manchester United and the long-term injury that is set to keep Claudio Marchisio sidelined until late November.
Juve have reportedly made the Gunners summer target their first choice and with the two club directors of both clubs to attend Thursday later today, discussions will take place in Monaco over a possible move for the France international.
However, a deal, for the France international will be the one without complications as the Ligue 1 club value the 29-year-old at roughly €35 million and the Bianconneri haven’t yet submitted an offer closer to that amount.
Thursday’s meeting between Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta and PSG officials are also set to be attended by Matuidi’s agent Mino Raiola, who lives nearby in Monte Carlo.
While the Frenchman has now become the Serie A champion’s prime target, their main alternative is said to be Luiz Gustavo of Wolfsburg for whom reports claim there’ve been informal talks are ongoing, while Axel Witsel and Moussa Sissoko have moved into the background.
