Arsenal Banter brings you latest update on Arsenal news from top media sites like Daily Mail, Metro, The Express, The Independent, The Telegraph, SkySports and so on.
With Mesut Ozil and Alexis Sanchez deals set to expire in 2018, Arsenal are keen to tie both club record-signing to new contracts.
The duo are reportedly demanding a £250,000 a week and if both player’s demands are met on five-year deals, the added cost totals £36 million above what was initially anticipated.
This will completely alter our club current wage structure, as the next-nearest earner to the duo would be Theo Walcott who current earns £120,000 per week at the Emirates.
However, report according to the Times suggest that potential deals for Sanchez and Ozil could begin a trend for star foreign players also wanting increases in their wages with the respective club to put them on a level-pegging with equivalents playing in the EU.
Foreign players with their families based abroad are likely to ask for huge pay rises in their next contracts, pushing them up to the level of Manchester City’s Sergio Aguero, who is reportedly paid £240,000 per week.
