Arsenal target Kostas Manolas has put Arsenal and Chelsea on red alert by snubbing Roma’s latest contract offer. The highly-rated defender was linked with a move away from the Italian capital in the summer after a brilliant season.

Arsenal and Chelsea have been both keen on striking a deal for the Greece international, but they were priced out of a move in the end.

It’s believed that the Serie A giants are now trying to tie down the 25-year-old to a new deal to remain at the Stadio Olimpico. However, report coming from Italian news outlet Calciomercator [via talkSPORT] claimed the Greek defender has rejected their latest offer.

The Serie A side have offered a contract worth around £42,000-a-week, but he is holding out for a bigger increase on his current £34,000-a-week deal, which expires in the summer of 2019.
